Do you want to feel more connected to your spouse?  Try praying together on a consistent basis.  Russ and I don’t have a set time to pray each week but we do pray together often.  It really makes us feel closer to each other and to God.

When you pray together it will unite your spirits, which in turn will create unity between you and your spouse.  When you get married, you bring into the relationship your own ideas, dreams, and ways of doing things.  When you pray together, God can help bring your needs, desires and attitudes in alignment with Him—and each other—as you yield to His will and leading.

Another thing that happens when you pray together is your intimacy grows with each other and God as you invite God in the midst of your marriage.  As you pray together with honesty and vulnerability, you are stripped emotionally before God and each other, which then leads to greater intimacy.  You discover more about each other, which then draws you closer to each other, experiencing intimacy on a deeper level.

Finally, praying together will change YOU as God is invited into your relationship.  He can bring about real change in you, and make you more like Him, which in turn will bring greater harmony in your marriage.

Making God a part of your relationship by praying together, will connect you more as a couple and will strengthen your relationship with God.  I encourage you to get connected and let God be the third cord that binds you and your spouse together.
